A partnership with Roche, one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies, helped establish a rich library of CNS compounds for Synosis and, with its breadth, validated Synosis’s innovative approach to drug development. The novel deal could lead to treatments for cognitive disorders, Parkinson’s, drug dependency and pain.
The broad partnership centers on five drug candidates from Roche, including four Phase 1 molecules, which target the central nervous system (CNS). Under the terms of the deal, Synosis will develop the drug candidates through focused clinical trials and explore additional indications. Roche will retain the right to opt-in to two pre-selected programs.
Under the terms of the agreement, Synosis will assume responsibility for the clinical development of the five drug candidates. Roche retains the right to opt-in to potential products resulting from two of these pre-selected programs on completion of agreed milestones. Synosis will also explore clinical development on three existing Roche programs, retaining full commercial rights to bring products to market either alone or with a partner.
